Disgustingly unclean room. Every surface was stained or dirty. I slept in my sleeping bag, I showered in socks. I was afraid to touch anything

The smell of the room was the first thing we noticed, then the dingy and crusty carpet. Then we saw the bathroom with missing light fixtures, clumps of hair on the floor and shoe prints. Stained linens and curtains and dirty outlets led us not want to use the room phone or their towels.
