A nice hotel in a quiet but central location

We chose Hotel Splendid for its location in the Old Town ring but in a quieter area close to good transportation. It certainly fulfilled our hopes. Just a one minute walk to Lehel Underground station and two handy tram lines (we bought a 72 hour pass for our three day stay). The hotel's front entrance looks a little battered (just needing a quick paint job) but once inside, it's very nice and well kept up. There are about 12 steps up to the lobby but we were offered help with our luggage. We were on the fourth floor. The elevator services the lower ground breakfast area to all the rooms. There is a nice sitting room with a bar and a lovely outdoor patio in the back. I didn't realize breakfast wasn't included and for the price, it was okay but not remarkable. Our room was quite large and pleasant and our request for a walk in shower was honored. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Just behind the hotel is a nice square with several restaurants that look enticing but we didn't discover this before we'd made other plans. All in all, we would recommend Hotel Splendid quite highly.

I loved this hotel! I was in Munich for the weekend so just a two night stay. The hotel is beautiful and although the single rooms are small they have so much charm! I had a complimentary copy of Romeo and Juliet on my bed upon arrival. I had a little bookshelf and a balcony. Bed and pillows were comfy. Bathroom was a little on the small side but just one person no big deal. Staff was great and they have a little bar downstairs if you need a late night drink and they will charge to your room. Front desk went out of their way to send my laundry out on a Saturday (they normally do Mon-Fri same day service). It was very expensive for the laundry but it was a necessity. All in all great stay and loved the character of this beautiful hotel - would stay again for sure!

I’d give the Splendid Dollmann six stars if I could. It’s located in such a pleasant neighborhood, quiet and residential, yet a mere 10-minute walk from the center of town. This is a hotel with character. Breakfast was varied and delicious. The staff is a particular strength: the people I especially want to thank for their kindness and good cheer are Matthias and Sebastian at the reception, and Sue in the breakfast room. Even those whose names I don’t know were great.

Perfect hotel for our quick 2 days in Munich. Walking distance to old town and just a half block from underground transportation. Was so easy to get back to Munich Central station from there. Room was comfortable and spacious and morning breakfast (albeit simple) was an added bonus. Highly recommend.

I stayed in a Standard room with a Queen Bed for 6 nights in May 2023. I found the hotel clean and comfortable and in a good location. It is just 50m from the Lehel subway station and a short walk to the English Garden where I could take my morning walks everyday before work. The Munich Residenz is a 900m walk from the Hotel and the Marienplatz square a 1200m walk. There is a comfortable lounge next to the lobby of the hotel. There are ample bars and restaurants in walking distance of the hotel so you do not need to get a taxi to go for dinner. My room cost €143 per night (without breakfast) which seemed reasonable for its quality compared to other options in the city. In short I can recommend a stay at this hotel in Munich.
