Started and finished our trip around 🇵🇹 and Spain 🇪🇸 staying at this lovely art deco hotel - 5 nights all up. Staff are marvelous, so a big thanks for making us welcome. The hotel is well positioned just off the Avenida da Liberdade, good walking to many things, including of course to some great restaurants. We enjoyed the history connected with the hotel, especially in the breakfast/library room. One small quibble, the water flow in the shower in the room we had on first stay not so good and difficult to adjust. However, the 6th floor bedroom with the balcony had excellent rain shower and good water adjustment. Room was spacious, with good wfi and charging facility. Breakfast was not extensive but good. We gave the little expresso machine a good workout. Would definitely make this hotel our number one choice when visiting Lisboa.

Gorgeous hotel, really well appointed. Great breakfast with good selection of coffees. Friendly staff. Try to get the Writers Room 65 suite. Simply stunning and a lovely touch a small carafe of Port as a welcome gift. Would certainly stay again as brilliant location also.

Different from all the chain hotels. Small, boutique hotel. You felt the staff couldn't do enough for you. Large rooms and ensuite bathrooms. Shower took some time to get to the right temperature and might not be as powerful as some might be used to. Breakfast (continental) was ample and varied. Free port, cherry liqueur and afternoon tea. Convenient for old part of Lisbon in, relatively, flat area close to metro.

We stayed in the Britania for two nights in May 2024. It is a wonderful place to stay in Lisbon. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and welcoming. It is beautifully decorated and furnished. It is very centrally located but, despite this, is quiet at night thanks to very good sound insulation. The room had plenty of space and a shaded balcony. The bed was comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. There were many nice touches in the room: a multi-port charger for phones including wireless charging, a generous decanter of complimentary port wine, a good magnifying mirror, and both excellent powerful showers and a bath. We had not mentioned to anyone that it was my wife’s birthday on the second day of our visit, but nevertheless she was given a small cake at breakfast and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in our room in the evening. If being treated with genuine warmth and kindness is high on your list of prerequisites in a hotel, then I highly recommend The Britania.
