We stayed at the Hotel Alegria in late October for 5 nights. The hotel was very comfortable. Our room was very nice and large by European standards and looked out over the streets. The staff was very kind and helpful. It was very convenient to the city, less than a 10 minute walk to Rossio station (which was very helpful when we took the train to Sintra). We did not have breakfast included with our room. This was fine because we ate at local places - twice at a bakery nearby on the Avenida Da Liberdade and twice at a great place called Instant Crunch less than a 5 minute walk (owned and run by a French couple - absolutely awesome breakfast, don't let the name disuade you). We would gladly stay here again when in Lisbon.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Alegria for 5 nights. We loved the hotel, the location, the kiosk across the street and, especially, the service. The live music at the kiosk on Friday and Saturday nights was a bonus. The breakfast was excellent and varied and the food at the kiosk was equally good. We would definitely go back.

Fabulous stay. The location was perfect. Just a short walk to the historic area and close to the train station. The room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was very good and was close to many reasonably priced restaurants. There’s an outdoor eating area open for quick bite to eat and drink.

A charming hotel in a perfect neighborhood. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are roomy and comfortable. Breakfast is great! The park across the street offers a cafe and live music. Couldn’t have picked a more perfect place from which to explore and experience Lisbon.

We spent four nights at Hotel Alegria and were delighted with our choice. The ambience is charming. Our room, a twin, was spacious, spotlessly clean, and nicely appointed. It is a conveniently located oasis in a busy city. There is a small park across the street and you have the option of taking meals there or enjoying music on a weekend evening. Our first night they offered a free olive oil and wine tasting. We enjoyed meeting other guests and ended up staying for dinner at the hotel’s excellent restaurant. The entire staff was kind, knowledgeable, and professional. We would like to especially thank Ines and Jose for the local advice and assistance they were always ready to graciously provide. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special place to stay in Lisbon.
