I was here for my granddaughter's volleyball tournament in May as well! I have read @AmandaB's review and couldn't agree more!!! For me, it's the STAFF that makes all the difference! I have never experienced a staff that went SO OUT OF THEIR WAY to accommodate our needs! For example, just tonight, there happened to be zero spots in the parking lot (probably due to the Oilers watch parties happening downtown). My daughter (who was driving our vehicle) "made" a spot and took a picture, then went to the front desk to see if the spot she parked at would be okay. Immediately, the front desk attendant, Jay, offered to give up HIS spot so she could park there! Never, have I ever seen this much consideration to needs...he literally gave up his parking spot for us!! This is just one example of the level of service we received. We stayed for 4 nights and have been helped by so many staff - all of them top-notch!! I had to take names to give them a special mention, because their work ethic, kindness, and dedication to excellence truly goes above and beyond! At the front desk, Jay, Patrick, Fezy, Renee, Maggie and Sheryl were outstanding at getting us checked in quickly and efficiently, made sure our room was comfortable, kindly assisted us when our keys wouldn't work (tip: just don't put your key near your phone!!), and answered all our questions with a smile and "is there anything else I can do to make your stay comfortable?". This group of front desk staff really know how to put the customer first! (insert applause here!) Special mention to the Breakfast Attendants: Mandy and Puneet! They prepared a delicious hot breakfast and kept replenishing food and coffee with a smile (even though it was SO BUSY with all the volleyball players and parents!)! And...they agreed to come in early in order to allow the volleyball players an early breakfast for those starting their games early in the morning!! (See below or @AmandaB's review) The housekeeping staff also did an amazing job! Benni was the housekeeper on our floor and the rooms were cleaned in a timely fashion. There was also a daily replacement of all towels and toiletries when needed! Finally, we want to give a shout out to general staff members Terry and Dexter as well as Mani in Security for their hard work and amazing customer service! I also would like to mention Gary Singh, the general staff manager at the downtown location...who personally came out from behind when he overheard me asking one of the front desk staff a question to answer it and solve the problem! It was Gary who understood the need to open the breakfast 1 hour earlier in order to accommodate the volleyball teams who started their games at 7:30 am at the EXPO centre. It's very clear by the level of care and attention that the staff here provides, that he does an excellent job running this branch of the Comfort Inn chain! (insert more applause here!) For me, and for many other customers I have spoken to, the staff makes this hotel so special! Thank you all for making our 4-night stay so comfortable....You are certainly living up to the hotel's "Comfort" Inn namesake!! We'll be back!!

We are staying at the Comfort Inn downtown for my daughter's volleyball tournament and we had to leave this review while still here! I am so impressed with the level of service here. They had all our rooms ready HOURS before the check in time (we had called ahead and asked if there was anything they could do to get us in...they did not promise this as it depended on previous check outs, but they promised to do their best...and they certainly delivered!) The rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of towels which are changed daily. One of our parent/player combo even got a free upgrade to a HUGE room (it has become our gathering space). The hotel also provided free parking because of our large group booking. The front desk staff are courteous and always looking for ways to make our stay better. What impressed me the most (and led me to leave this review even before check out) is that they just informed me that they changed their breakfast start time to accommodate our earlier game time. The manager came out and recognized that many teams were staying here and they were making arrangements to get their staff in earlier to get the hot breakfast out sooner! I have a feeling that even if they couldn't get staff in earlier, they would have provided at least the "continental" options for us. By the way, the breakfast is really good! Lots of options and food is fresh and plentiful! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! Yes, it is an older and perhaps smaller hotel, but the service and friendly atmosphere makes up for this in spades! Highly recommend and for the very reasonable price, I would return here for sure! - Thank you to staff for the amazing work you do!

Meh - close to Rogers but that’s it

We were staying for a concert and only room available was the king suite. The walk to Rogers is very doable so that was nice. Staff were great the whole time but a few things: the breakfast hot food was not good - powdered eggs and the like. The tv in our bedroom was pixelated and lost sound constantly. The grate over our hot tub motor has been removed and was to the side -not sure if they forgot to put it on after working on it or if it doesn’t fit? The space was very dated. There are only two chairs and a small table in a spacious room where obviously families may stay. And there was no recycling available on site and they used small sample sized products which are not a very environmentally friendly choice.

Very nice and friendly staff, always ready to help. Rooms are clean, we are thankful to Navi, she did a great job keeping everything fresh and tidy. Breakfasts are also nice, you have a variety of food to choose from. Absolutely recommend!

Very clean rooms/building and super friendly staff for the most part, location is very convenient as well. Was provided an abundant number of towels/toiletries for just a one night stay, and after a 3 day train ride, it was much needed. Decided to wander the surrounding downtown area that night and ran into a few weirdos along Jasper Ave that spoiled things a bit, but the comfy beds helped me sleep it off (one was slightly squeaky on one side but overall wasn't an issue at all). Breakfast was good and fairly standard for the most part (be sure to try the fresh waffles), the staff were very kind to let me in despite being almost time to close and even offered people fresh waffles while cleaning up. Would be nice to have some packaged pastries to grab and go like I've seen in some other Comfort Inns but not a dealbreaker. Thank you Sheryl and Mandy. Will definitely be coming back to this location in the future :)
