In the 26 years of travelling to Taiwan, this has to be the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. The first 3 nights I averaged around 4 hours sleep per night. The final night I managed 7 due to complete lack of sleep and energy. With the rooms being located around the food/social room, you have a wide variety of noise and unpleasantness to experience. Drunks who barge in shouting and dragging furniture anytime between 22:00pm and 03:00am before they slam their room doors and then use the hair dryer for 20 minutes. There are also 2 maids who at 06:00am will slam bins, shuffle their lazy feet, drag furniture, throw around cups and crockery, all the while stuffing their faces with food all day, and giving you nasty looks when you ask for a little quiet. And then, just the general selfishness of people staying here who can’t seem to hold a conversation without shouting, gargling phlegm, and slamming their room doors. The only saving grace was the young man on reception who tried his best to control residents and staff, but even he could not bring myself to give this place anything but the lowest rating, which is still higher than this place deserves.… get a new job in a better “hotel”, young man.! I accidentally booked 7 nights, as a matter of fact that I will only stay 6 nights. I emailed hotel immediately and asked if I could pay 6 nights upon arrival instead of 7 nights. I was told that I would pay whatever the booking is. Upon arrival, I asked again, saying I would only stay 6 nights instead of 7 nights. Well, I was charged 7 nights anyway. When we got into our room, it was smelly and moldy, very unpleasant smell. My daughter threw up after staying in that room for 30 minutes. I have to ask to change to a different room. The other room smells better and I asked if I could stay in that room for the rest of nights. The front desk told me that would be an upgrade and there's no way I could get an upgrade. So we stayed in that room, packed next morning. At the second evening we were put into another smelly room and I said that room is not suitable for human being to live in. Then we were put into another temporary room. My daughter and I had to packed again in the morning. Finally, on the 3rd night we were arranged into another less smelly room and settled for the rest of staying. The front desk, Vincent , is extremely rude and he won't let me talk. Whenever I tried to tell him that the room was moldy and smelly, he would argue with me and told me that is it. After staying for 6 nights, I started feeling sick as well. It's the mold inside the room. The hotel is really outdated and poorly cleaned.

The rooms were always spacious and clean. I highly recommend getting the window room as opposed to the windowless room as the view tends to be nice. Also having natural lighting in your room is just better overall. The breakfast tends to be quite lackluster so I’d recommend saving your 200ntd and finding a nice brunch spot nearby.The breakfast was half an egg, orange piece and a strange sandwich. It’s centrally locates so you can take the bus/MRT to Da an Park or go see Taipei 101. Many fun things to do. The staff are all quite friendly except for one thin woman who tends to have bad days and takes it out on friendly customers. The larger staff were all very friendly and professional. Overall this chain is great despite having one negative worker. (To the hotel: try to improve your breakfast options. Give more of a larger portion traditional English breakfast with 2 eggs, toast/ham, cereal, bacon. Also make sure staff are feeling at least neutral or positive. Customers are smart and can tell when someone is negative or simply not trying, it can dramatically affect someone’s stay. Reward the staff that are bright and showing positive leadership). I booked this hotel purely based on location (I had a dinner appointment at a restaurant on the same street). It was perfectly serviceable but not much more is there to say about it. The room was quite clean, though I could find stray long hairs here and there. Internet connection is decent, though my iPhone had trouble connecting sometimes (a problem that seems quite common as I saw another guest complain about it at the front desk). The small desk in the corner of the room was of a weird height so not very conducive to working. The staff are friendly but their English isn't great so I ended up speaking my poor Mandarin with them to communicate. One thing to note: avoid rooms on the 3rd floor. They basically open out to the main cafe/restaurant area of the hotel. It means you can hear coffee machines making noise as early as 6:30 or 7 am as people come for breakfast. But the bed was quite comfortable, not hard as many hotel beds tend to be in Asia. As another reviewer said, go for it if you get a good price. But it's not worth paying a premium for.

I stay at this hotel regularly and I think some of the super positive reviewers are a bit over the top. This is an average Taiwanese hotel located in a mix-use older building, really should be 3.5 star. If you get a low price, then it can provide good values, but weekends here can more the double the weekday rate, and it can feel really overpriced for what you get. Good: 1) Room is small, basic but mostly clean, good if you are just here to sleep 2) Good location for food, plenty of convenient stores and eateries, and a small night market is just across the street if you are into cheap eats or need a late night snack 3) Internet is decent speed and mostly reliable over my many stays 4) Good basic amenities: small frig, water kettle, bottle water and safe in the room, and coffee and soda machine in common area Neutral: 1) Location is near popular areas but in the mid-point between 2 subway stations, so I would not recommend dragging your luggage to here as it is a long and draining walk 2) Cleanliness of the room can be a mix bag, depend on which housekeeping person cleaned the room 3) Almost no 2 rooms are of the same floor plan, some are decent while others may have very weird layout Bad: 1) Won't let you check in a minute before 3pm. Even for a regular customer like me, they refused to let me check-in early on a very long stay if I arrive on an early international flight... 2) Hotel sells room for hourly use, intended for young people and couples to have intimacy, so you can expect to see young couples come and go...and hear sounds of people getting intimate if you know what I mean 3) Breakfast is weak... It's not a buffet and more of a set breakfast but a very small one. No menu and they just make up what they serve, on the go, using mostly processed food, just heated up in several airfryer ovens. On busy days, they reduce the size even more, so they have enough food to serve all the guests. Portion is very very small, and they cut up everything to create the illusion of more items...just look at the picture I attached, it's a very typical serving. Breakfast is made-to-order, and not ideal if you are in a hurry to go somewhere... Overall, this is a decent place if you get it super cheap, and you should temper your expectations.
