We had booked a Grand Room, which looking on their website was the equivilant of a superior room. When we arrived there appeared to be a mixup with our booking and the lady on reception showed us a room which she said she had upgraded us to, our original room was in the basement with no window. This upgraded room was so small, with a bed (not a double) pushed up against a wall, it would have been very hard for 2 people to sleep in the bed and the room was no more than 8-9ft wide. The receptionist did try to offer us another room but we declined and took the decision to leave, however, we had booked in and had been charged the city tax, when we asked for this to be refunded as we weren't staying we were told that was not possible. All in all not a good experience. It was 4 km from the centre of Amsterdam and was in the Museum area. The webiste for the hotel is very misleading and gives a much better impression. We had to find an alternative hotel but cannot praise the lady on reception enough as she did what she could to help us, but it was not to be.

Good location for hotel, roughly around 1-2 miles walk from main city centre but have number of good options nearby. Only 20 mins from airport by car. Hotel was - OK. Honestly if you are just using it to come and go. It’s clean-ish, however our shower wasn’t sealed so everyday was a a flood! The cleaner also broke a personal item of mine, the receptionist admitted it was an accident but to date I have had no response or resolution! Whatever you see on the website just bring your expectations down a few notches and you’re good. It’s like a nicer premier inn.

Hotel was in a great location, not quite in the centre but two minutes from the tram and the airport bus stop. Close to restaurants and cafes too, and one stop away from the national museum. The room was a good size, no kettle but had a coffee machine. paid for a twin room but it was just two singles stuck together. Our room smelled extremely unpleasantly of sewage and was so bad that it woke us up on the first night. it got a bit better when we turned the heating down so we assume it came from there. we only stayed for three nights so with the heating down and the window open it was okay. The shower flooded every time we used it and the body wash was empty. Acceptable if on a small budget as it was well priced and a good location, but the owners really need to sort out the smell and take greater care with the bathrooms.

First of all, the elevator was broken (people were also stuck in it), we had to found our way by ourselves to our room by using the elevator or staircases for employees. The receptionist was beyond rude and unprofessional. While we were at a concert, something went missing out of our room. We searched for hours in the room, it was definitely GONE. When we went to mention this to the receptionist, he was very unempathic and rude about it, to the point of laughing in our faces. Which made us question his involvement... Instead of going about it in a customer-friendly problem-solving way, he started to provoke my partner to upset him for no valide reason. We didn't feel safe there anymore, so we decided to leave but we were not leaving without an apology or refund. To which the receptionist responded with by calling the police... Can you imagine how ridiculous this receptionist went about the situation, all because we were asking for some empathy and a solution for the missing item? Thankfully the police was very understanding to our situation. They advised legal measures and friendly escorted us out. While we were leaving, the receptionist started provoking my partner again by cussing him out. Perhaps you're asking yourself while reading this: where were his colleagues? Well, one colleague (who I suppose was the manager), acted like we didn't even exist. He left us stood there helpless. When we tried talking to him, he acted like he didn't speak Dutch or English. But his Dutch was perfectly fine when the police entered. We left the hotel at 11 pm (!!!) for a 3-hours ride (!!!) back to Belgium, without finishing our stay to which we looked so forward to. We are in absolute disbelief that the staff members of the hotel had no human decency to acknowledge the situation and our feelings, nor to apology, give us a refund, a voucher, ANYTHING. No. They were rude, unprofessional and invalidating towards customers and not only towards us.

Nothing to write home about. Location is great however the mattress are WAY too soft to be considered supportive. I like a relaxing sleep but it was ridiculous. I had to sleep on top a pillow to support my hip for sleep. They're not even pillows they're cushions! Staff member was rude in tone when i made my complaint. Made me feel as though i was wrong to complain and that my comfort meant nothing. I wouldn't go so far as to say she showed a lack of class as a member of staff. Won't book again. The midday staff member was nice. (P.s. - Don't eat Pizza behind the front desk, its unprofessional)
