One of the Worst Hotels in Gokarna

Looking at the photos in Agoda, I have booked the hotel. I was travelling with my family for Gokarna-Murudeshwar-Goa trip. They insisted that I should pay full advance which I obliged to. When I reached the location, it took me about 30 mins to find the hotel as there was no approach road to the hotel. Please check the video and pics to understand. When I tried to check in, I noticed it is a normal house, that they have converted into stay by making normal cardboard/wood partition in the rooms. The rooms were full of cigarette butts and heavy smell of alcohols and cigarettes. When I looked around there was trash everywhere outside which included old bottles. When I inquired the staff was very rude to me. I didn't dare to check-in into this dirty hotel and had to find another hotel for my family though it was loss for me. The Safety of my family was important to me. Don't get cheated by their website or portal pics.

Rooms are clean and maintained well. Staff very courteous and helpful. Electric Kettle with coffee/Tea packets available in the room.. Room requires ventilation. There is a window which opens to the wall of the next building barely 4 ft. away. Intercom was not working and we had to use our mobile to call the reception desk. Basement parking can accommodate 4 cars. There are couches in the parking area if you have a driver. 3 cars can be parked before the entrance may be after 10 pm as the Restaurant is very busy throughout the day and you may not get parking there. room service is very prompt and excellent vegetarian food. North Indian dishes are priced much higher than South Indian dishes.

I reserved in katyayani thru booking.com for 4 days nov 18 till nov 22. And stayed in the place for 7 days till nov 25 2022. Katyayani "cancelled" my reservation in booking lying that i didnt pay in advance. They lied since they called me asking to bring and pay only cash when i arrive. They charged me bet 2000-2500 india rupies per night while the rate in booking was much lower in weekdays. So they cancelled while me staying there, and that way they avoided my review since they cancelled saying i didnt pay deposit while i paid higher than their rate in real..... if You are not in booking system, no review, and charge higher than in the system. improper behavior. Its good location, Hardly room cleaning (one time cleaning in 7 days stay), you hear much noise from corridor and other rooms. Hardly electric spots in the room. Electric spot is far from your bed, no reading lamp. Many insects but they dont provide insect net. I had to buy one. No balcony. As most places im charged foe single the same rate as a family of 3.
