As a famous quote states, “Just being surrounded by bountiful nature, rejuvenates and inspires us.“ There is truly something magical about being surrounded by nature. Just a few minutes of being outside in nature makes you feel calmer, healed, and restored. Not only does it give us strength, but it also cleanses all the negative energy, replacing it with positivity and rejuvenation. Our recent holiday in Malaysia, with the last four nights in Langkawi’s Rebak Island Resort and Marina, was a testament to this. I am so glad that we were just about to book another famous high-end property amid a rainforest, but we finally chose Rebak because 100% of the reviews I read were positive. So, here’s the story of a short-lived dream where time just seemed to fly away. We reached Langkawi on the evening of 2nd June. The property is located on a small island in the ocean and we had to take a boat, a free service provided by the resort at a pre-designated schedule. We were worried about this as missing the boat schedule meant hiring a boat at a substantial cost. But to our surprise, the to and fro from their boat to the shore came out to be our best and most adventurous and amazing experience. Well-trained resort staff help manage your luggage and take you to this amazing resort nestled amid a thick-green forest cover on a beautifully pristine island. You taste their impeccable customer service the minute you get off the boat and get on a golf cart to reach the reception facing their private beach. The view from the private beach is spectacular with the ocean waters surrounded with hills, greenery, and islands in between. We were welcomed very warmly by a young staff member, Saad, at the front office, who seamlessly handled our check-in process with his amazing customer service. To our surprise, he was interning and still in the last year of his hotel management course. We enjoyed the first evening by relaxing on the beach, enjoying the happy hours at their pool-and-beach-side bar and then an amazing dinner at the restaurant. Being a vegetarian was taxing in Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands as options for vegetarians are limited, but Rebak had quite a few sumptuous offerings and we didn’t feel away from home. We had booked a one bedroom suite, which was huge, about 1100 sq feet, beautifully designed space. You enter a spacious living room with comfortable sofas, a minibar, and a dining area with a 4-seater dining table and a TV. The first word when we entered the bedroom was “Wow!” as the spacious and beautiful bedroom has a very cushiony and comfortable king-size bed, and a huge attached closet and dressing area, tub, and a separate shower. Oh yes, and not to forget a very spacious balcony adjoining the living room, where we sat and enjoyed our morning and evening tea while observing the beauty of the pristine beach, greenery, and nature. The resort is surrounded by thick green forest, and you can see monkeys if you go on a walk on the nature trail. The sound of crickets and birds is calming and meditative. If you are looking to get away from your hectic city life’s humdrum, Rebak Island Resort is the best choice. I had the best time sitting on the beachside and meditating in the morning and evening, absorbing the healing qualities of untouched, pristine, and rejuvenating nature. All your body, mind, and soul feel lighter watching the orange-hued sky when the Sun comes up in the morning or the gradual dimming of light at dawn reflecting different shades on the sea waves. Time just flew away while enjoying their best-in-class hospitality, great food, drinks, live singing every evening, amazing pool, mesmerizing beach and spectacular views of the sunrise and sunset, and the list is endless. I was curious to meet their resort manager, Mr. Sati, as I had read many reviews about him. On the second day of our stay, we noticed a gentleman going to every table to greet the guests and even take out time to chat with them for a while. Yes, this was Mr. Sati, Rebak’s Resort Manager. And I must say that the reviews were absolutely accurate and maybe didn’t mention enough about his immaculate customer service, relationship-building skills, and humility. You can see through the top-class training and mentoring given to the entire resort’s staff by Mr. Sati and Mr. Hafiz. All their staff have a very warm smile; they are not taught to say a ‘No’ and go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. The turnaround time for any request is short, rather instant, which isn’t common in many countries and even top hotels or resorts. We were longing for Indian food, having struggled to get vegetarian food in KL, and our wish came true; all thanks to their Indian chef, Deep. Not mentioning him in this review would be unfair, as we gorged on the Indian dishes he prepared, which were among the best we have ever had. Another amazing experience we had was at the beachside bar with the bartender, Farish, another gem of a person. A couple of us, Indian families, became friends and went to enjoy late-night drinks at the bar, and Farish not only served us amazing drinks but also entertained us thoroughly. We chatted, enjoyed our drinks with the sound of the waves and the calmness and quietude of the night. There was no dull moment, even for our teen daughter, as we enjoyed the serenity of the place. She enjoyed reading in their library, which has a great collection of books. We experienced an adrenaline rush and overcame our hydrophobias by trying Kayaking in the ocean. That’s not all! We enjoyed playing Fuse Ball, pool table, chess, the kid’s club, and ATVs that can be hired to go around the three beaches of the island. A dip in their amazing pool overlooking the beach calmed us and, on a lighter note, helped us build an appetite 😊 Though no one is perfect, but we couldn’t really spot any development areas or negative points in this beautiful property, which deserves huge kudos, especially for its beauty, world-class customer service, sumptuous food, and the biggest of all – dedication towards Sustainability. We were very impressed with Rebak’s “No Plastic” initiative as the rooms have a glass jug with water, and there are water filters outside the rooms. Imagine how many plastic bottles we save! Our KL stop before coming to Langkawi was a top five-star hotel and apartments that also followed the trend of 4 bottles of water per day. Imagine the plastic that fills our oceans and landfills and then causes cancer and other life-threatening ailments. Rebak’s sensibilities towards creating a green and sustainable island are commendable. They carry out cleaning drives on the surrounding beaches, bringing back tons of bags of garbage to recycle. But as they say – all good things come to an end (so that we can plan for a new beginning); our memorable trip to Langkawi also came to an end. With gratitude, we carried back beautiful memories and highly recommend this property to everyone. we very much enjoyed our recent 1 week stay at rebak resort. the resort is sturdily and attractively build, and our sea view room was lovely- just meters from the beach. the service was excellent across the board- reception, transfer boat/security, restaurant, landscaping, housekeeping, spa, management- everyone was extremely helpful and cheerful. the food is really good and varied. the 6min boat trip from langkawi to rebak/rebak to langkawi is complimentary, departs multiple times per day with no need to pre-book. the atmosphere at the resort is relaxed and light. we can highly recommend rebak resort for peaceful pleasant winding down.

This is an incredible resort with many activities! We got a suite with sea view 😍 the view is impressive! The style of this resort is so special because the atmosphere of a magical forest intertwines with a modern and very Instagrammable swimming pool. I recommend you to try their Satay by the beach! The most delicious satay I tried in Malaysia! (Btw it can come with your Hi tea experience). I recommend you to try ATV and discover the island. The boat to island is so comfortable, we reached in 10 min and got our own privacy here. People are so nice, mostly couples and families. At the night can enjoy movie or live band! We really had fun here! So friendly and caring atmosphere 🥹 Definitely I’ll come back!

We enjoyed our stay, and it's a beautiful location. The staff was very friendly and beautiful environment. Boat is scheduled on time, Make sure u don't be late. Vegetarian is limited, but the food was good. Beach is clean to swim. Best for relaxation. High recommendation!!!

Staff are amazingly friendly, and the food is excellent. The rooms are serviced well and although a little dated and tired in places they in no way detract from the beauty of the resort. The pool is excellent and there are always enough towels and sunbeds. The outside bar is fun - vibrant bar staff sometimes surrounded by the marina crew - so if you like to overhear stories of pumps, A/C units and how long they've been moored up then it's an ideal place for you. But don't fear - there are other places to detach from those conversations as the beach is as private as you can get. Reception and tour booking are spot on - nothing is too much. The free boat service back and to from the mainline is swift and a real start/end to your day. All in all - for the money you pay - it's good value.
