Nice service and rooms are also nice. The shower stand will be improved if handheld shower head is also available. Big TV but iPhone mirroring cannot be used. Location is very good — not too busy and noisy, not far away from the airport, close to the beautiful big bridge and darling square whilst some main attractions, supermarkets and malls are in reasonable walking distance.

The hotel is in an awkward little spot alongside a dual carriageway, a short walk from Darling Harbour and the shops on George Street. The Town Hall transport interchange is just a few minutes' walk away, from where there are direct trains to and from the airport and trams to Circular Quay. Our room overlooked another building, where the occupants of the apartment opposite us seemed oblivious to the fact that we could see in. The room itself was spacious, with good wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was large - didn't like the glass between the room and bathroom, but there was a blind that could be drawn down. There was a large desk and good wifi. We were lucky to have access to the Club room where we had breakfast, and light refreshments were available during the day. Given that the only bar in the hotel appears to be part of the bistro, it felt like a missed opportunity that the lounge wasn't used as a bar during the evening. There is a small but perfectly adequate gym, which was useful on the day we were confined to quarters in a weather bomb. All the staff we met - at reception, in the Club room and the concierges - were very friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage with them after we checked out, and the concierge has a small stock of umbrellas for guests, which unexpectedly proved very useful. It's not the most scenic location but it was fine for our short stay in Sydney.

Every single thing was lovely!! All the staff were friendly and the omelette was the best I’ve ever eaten. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, helping us find things and places to go. The bathrooms were all clean and tidy, our room was fresh every day, I also loved the water filter outside our room. We will definitely be back!

Big mistake, we should have just taken an Uber to our own home but we thought we’d stay there for our anniversary night out. I didn’t choose the cheapest option for a room but was given a 2nd floor room with view of street garbage, no water in the room, mould in the shower which is cleverly disguised by the black staining in the tiles. Very dated, no bath in the room. This room is normally over $400 but had a small discount because it obviously isn’t peak travel time. I used my travel credit on my Amex for the first time in 5 years & also noted that the reason for our stay was for our anniversary but no mention of it from the staff or anything like other hotels do (we were given free champagne on our honeymoon in Cairns at another hotel, for example). We are Sydney locals, I work in an office across the road & regularly have had cocktails at Abode so this was very very disappointing. The breakfast was buffet but most of the food tasted like airplane or hospital food & yet I still had an upset stomach after. Don’t bother with the pancake machine, I took one bite & nearly spat the undercooked dough out. They want to charge $65 for parking when you can go across the road for $22. I’ve travelled to over 25 countries & stayed in many hotels, I’m very wary of hotels in Sydney as they are always overpriced but this was really pathetic.

Excellent attentive staff who were polite and helpful with local knowledge. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with good view of tge Harbour. The staff made our 40th wedding Anniversary special with a card and complimentary bottle of wine a lovely touching gesture. If there was one area that could be improved is the lack of choice for vegetarians /vegans in tge restaurant.
