We had booked their luxury cottage, a two-room mini apartment. Rooms are spacious, well lit, airy and fairly furnished. Each room had a double bed, and a couch. There was a small dining table with 4 chairs, 3 of which had broken seats that toppled off each time we sat on them. The wardrobes are unusable and smelly - the height inside is so less that you can't even hang a shirt properly, forget any longer garment. In one of the rooms the storage is cramped besides the bed making it unusable. The mattresses are sagging and need a replacement. The linen is full of lint and dust, it seems no vaccum is ever done. The locks on the doors are very inconveniently low, you need to stoop down to even open them. It seems they were installed for midgets. The way to the rooms is via 2 flights of stairs. To reach the dining area, again you need to climb down and then again climb up the stairs. Keep this in mind if you have any traveling members with discomfort in climbing stairs. Washrooms are spacious but the toilet seats are miniatures, perhaps meant only for the kids. Towels are provided, and so is soap and shampoo (via dispensers). No separation of wet and dry area leads to an all-wet floor after someone has taken a bath, something very annoying for us. No floor mats are provided for drying feet inside the washroom. Taps, faucets are clean, functional. Both rooms have large windows, so you get a lot of light and also some hill views. But the balcony is reachable only via the bigger room. So, you need to disturb the occupants each time you wish to access the balcony. The sliding doors to the balcony are rickety, old, and barely functional. The balcony is the only small open to air space in this so-called luxury cottage, and usable when the monkeys are not around. There is no parking space inside the hotel. All vehicles need to be parked on the road, which is quite cramped. There is no gym, no indoor games, no spa, no gym, no garden, no safe area for small kids to be on their own. They have installed FireTV sticks on each TV in the rooms, but the viewing experience is not good due to the poor WiFi bandwidth. Breakfast buffet is humble. The pre-made tea was not great, but when we asked for it, we were provided freshly made masala tea upon request. The coffee was again bad. You can order an omelette, you get boiled eggs, paranthas, pakodas, daliya, poha, vermicelli, brown bread sandwich, cornflakes, some cut fruit. We did not find it delicious at all, it was very average food. We did order food from room service and again found it very average. Finally, we had terribly sleepless nights due to dogs barking constantly throughout the night. The 100 year-old windows provided almost no sound insulation. For the price (almost USD 140 per night) I would have expected- a much better upkeep, more polished furnishings and much better-quality breakfast. Some more details to help you make an informed decision Rooms 1. The rooms are large, spacious but unappealing. The property is very old and not well maintained. 2. The electric switch housings keep dropping off to the floor. 3. The linen is full of lint, dust 4. The mattresses were sagging 5. Tea bags provided were of very poor quality and were open i.e., not sealed 6. The wardrobes were stinking, unusable and again designed for midgets 7. Door locks are so low, as if installed for midgets 8. Doors, windows are very old. Painting everything white does not make it a luxury cottage. 9. No foot-mats inside the washrooms. Safety 1. You need to park your vehicles on the cramped road 2. Anyone can walk upto your room's door - there is simply no barrier, it's like a room on the road. 3. Beware of monkeys especially while using the balcony and never leave the doors open Walkability 1. The entire road besides the hotel was broken and dug up, making it a pain to even have a peaceful walk. It's not the hotel's fault but the readers need to be aware of it. 2. The mall road is very near, by foot but only if you can walk a very very steep incline besides the Nand residency hotel. It's not a comfortable walk for some. 3. The roads are generally well lit at almost all places. If space inside the rooms matters the most to you while on a trip to the hills, then you might end up liking this place. For everything else, I'd go elsewhere. The staff and the service is good, prompt. I'd like to leave a special mention for Mr. Mahadev who manages the property, he is a true gentleman. He is very helpful, very courteous, always available and kind. He went out of his way to help me get my car back to the hotel from a public parking at 11PM in the night, guiding me all thru the way since the whole route was broken and under construction.

The rooms were so cosy and the view of the valley from our room was everything. The staff was so hospitable and they made sure we are comfortable. The location of the hotel is on Camel Back road and it was nice not having a lot of crowd. The view of oak and deodar trees made our day. Solace and nature. Just perfect.

Amazing hotel , superb service , excellent staff . The place was very relaxing . Just 5 min walk from the mall road . The view was stunning. Rooms were neat and clean . Staff was very helpfull . We reached early morning around 10 am our deluxe cottage was not ready so they gave us another room for a while .this shows great hospitality . Cottage was amazing will surely visit again. This is an extremely beautiful property located a little away from all the crowded regions in Mussoorie. This place offers such a breathtaking view from their rooms of the valley around. The hygiene is at its best and the staff is extremely polite and provide a phenomenal service. I had visited there with my friends and we had a great time and a very relaxed weekend. I would, without doubts recommend you guys to spend the time here when you're in Mussoorie.
