Excellent hospitality and good food. This is a paradise for bird watchers. Good behaviour of its staffs, Raju (the owner) , Bhuvan, Rahul and Ustad ji (the chef). They will guide you and make sure you are comfortable………. A place for revisit. All the best to the team.

Stayed at Kafal House for 2 nights in Cheer cottage. It is one of the bigger rooms. It has an upper deck. Room is pretty basic considering this is budget homestay. One of the things they need to address is fix some hooks in the room and bathroom to hang clothes. Also need atleast one bright bulb in the room. Existing light in the room was very inadequate. Food was nice and made just as you get at home. Special mention to Mr Bhuvan who attended to us during the stay and was incharge of the food. For birders, there is a bird ‘hide’ in the property. Overall this is a basic homestay and good option if you want to spend couple of nights. Dont expect any special amenities.

My wife and I have visited Kafal House twice in the last year, and both times we have been very impressed by the serenity of the place, the quality of birdwatching and the hospitality of the staff. Since we visit Pangot mainly for bird watching, we enjoy the fact that there are a number of bird species that one can tick off within the premises of Kafal House itself. One can also hire a bird guide here (at an additional charge), who is usually very knowledgable about the local bird species. The woodpecker walk, which is just a couple of kilometres from Kafal House, is great for spotting common mid-altitude woodpecker species. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wishes to spend a quiet few days in the lap of mountains and surrounded by the chirp of birds.

Surrounded by the sub-alpine forests, Kafal House is the best place to be if you are in and around Delhi-NCR and are looking for a peaceful weekend among the hills. After a smooth 7-8 hours drive from Delhi via Moradabad, you shall land deep in the pine woods, with only Nature for company. The common corridor that also serves as the balcony provides great views of the valley below - the Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve. The vegetation around abounds in myriads species of birds. The tranquil soul shall find a reflective hymn bubbling within....the storyteller shall feel the spider weaving a plot within.... At Kafal House they do not promise luxurious facilities, but they also ensure that boarders have all that they need to be comfortable. The dining area is cosy and aesthetically decorated with artifacts, varied in taste. The food is tasty and leaves you wanting for more. They also have resident birding guides who can take you on jolly hikes in search of the thrushes and the pheasants. An unspoilt gem in the Kumaoni Himalayas...visit there before its too late..and don't miss the experience of sipping tea in the dusk..at the balcony at Kafal House, while the sun melts in a cacaphony of colors on the canvas below....
