It was a wonderful experience. The hospitality of all the staffs specially Mr. Vivek Pradhan and Digendra Thapa were 👏..I would highly recommend this hotel for family , friends. The property is very beautiful and the view from room was breathtaking. So plan your visit here

This review is specifically for the restaurant Sagar’s kitchen Staff were so courteous Mr kiran Sharma & Mr kiran Thapar They served us yum food.. I would rate the resort 3 star I would rate the restaurant 5 star I would recommend this for vegetarian food lovers

We checked into Istana on 6th March. When we entered the hotel , I felt like I have entered Paradise. The name "Istana" means "Royal Palace",and it has proved its name throughout our stay. The picturesque view from the room of both the cityscapes and the mountain landscape was spectacular. We could see the Kanchenjunga mountain from the hotel room if the clouds are clear. We could see the whole Darjeeling city from the hotel room. There is a beautiful lawn in the third floor decorated with aesthetic lights,grass wall and obviously the Kanchenjunga. The view from the elevator feels like the elevator to paradise. From the hotel room we get to hear the the pleasant tune of the steaming, shreiking toy train, the majesty of Darjeeling.The peaks at the far melts with the clouds. The cool breeze at the hill top is the ultimate tranquility. In Night, the sparkling cityscapes and your favourite music makes the vibe. The beauty of nature is blended with the amiable hotel people, the I asked one uncle to play my favourite music in the hall area of the hotel, the uncle was so amiable and played my favourite music on his phone which was connected to the bluetooth speaker. The restaurant of the resort was just as majestic as the whole resort. During morning time the restaurant area is brightened by the sweet sun rays , and the morning spiritual bhajans to make the day. The owner of the hotel was also super amiable to us along with all the uncle who worked in the hotel. Alongside of amiable people and picturesque beauty the hotel was itself so large that I spent one whole evening roaming from here to there and vlogging the hotel, my favourite place of the hotel was the lawn in third floor. The food quality, being pure veg was very delicious, however you can have meat if you want at the hotel room. The hotel rooms are super good with all the aesthetic decorations. The hotel is prefferable for fun trips with friends, families,and taking aged people for a great Darjeeling trip. Istana hotel is a great example of the statement that say heaven can be found on earth only. I would suggest you to plan one day only for staying in the luxury hotel without going for any sightseeing on that day.

The view from the property is mind blowing. We stayed in the Kanchenjunga View Room. It was April and the sky is not expected to be clear enough to get a sight of Kanchenjunga but the view from the top floor of the hotel is mesmerizing. We found the rooms to be neat and clean with all the amenities you can expect. Apart from the property and the view, what makes the hotel good is its staff. All the staffs are very courteous and they greet you with a smile every time you talk to them. I would like to mention about Mr. Arnab Ganguly, whose help really made our stay worthwhile. I stayed with my wife and my 2 year old daughter, Mr. Ganguly personally took care of the food requests we made for the baby. Special thanks to him. The restaurant food is purely veg and they have ample options to choose from. The buffet breakfast also has varied options. Overall, I would love to stay again at this property.

Perfectly planned infra coupled with utmost professional staff. The stay was totally worth it. Albeit the taste of food and the restaurant serving vegetarian cuisine only, couldn't match up my expectations. Special thanks to Mr. Ganguly, Mr. Suraj, Mr. Pratham, Mr. Samrat along with Ms. Archana and the entire front office team for ensuring a hassle free experience.
