Far from good option to stay in Srinagar

The hotel is located in a small alleyway, surrounded by a number of similar looking establishments. It is what I would typically expect from a small bed-and-breakfast type hotel in an Indian city. The front desk area is small and has a couple of couches to sit in. The breakfast area is adjacent to the lobby. I was disappointed with the room that they allotted us, for a party of three with a king bed and space to put an extra bed, and upon checking with the front desk, they accommodated us in a slightly bigger room. While bigger than the original room, it wasn't all that spacious. The bathroom was okay and while toiletries were provided, the towels definitely looked worn and old. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were happy to bring and set up the extra bed for the night. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. Their breakfast buffet spread was limited, and predominantly featured North Indian fare. It was okay, unsure if someone from southern India would be fully comfortable. The hotel is located in an interior alleyway off the main road, a couple of hundred meters walk will take you to the main road, which has options for places to shop and eat. There was a lot of tour groups staying in the hotel during the time we were there. Even though the hotel is located fairly close to Dal Lake, the shabby alleyways leading to the hotel gave a poor first impression. The frequent power outages happening at the hotel were a dampener, while they did have generator, it wasn't able to power everything, and the room heater did not work with the generator. There was also a Mosque nearby, which offered prayers in the morning on a loudspeaker, which isn't conducive for getting a good night's sleep. Additionally worth mentioning was the frequent dog barking happening near the property late at night, which did also disturb our sleep. The hotel staff were always warm and helpful, and that was definitely a bright spot during our stay.

I have been to Kashmir in April 2024, This Hotel is one of the worst I stayed in. In fact this was Hotel was imposed on me in a Holiday Package by Make My Trip, We were here only for the last day of my trip. Had a Horrible Experience 1. This Hotel is located in a shabby location, in tiny lanes of Srinagar, though it is 1 Km from Dal Lake but the surroundings was quite bad. 2. The Owner of the Hotel seems to have bribed crook Make My Trip Agents who are even allowing booking in such bad Hotels. 3. Don't go by pictures or fake reviews of make my trip and goibibo, I was also deceived by reading it. 4. Washrooms are quite poor with rusted accessories and water blockage in bathrooms 5. This Hotel is located near mosque which offers prayers in the morning on loud speakers at a very high volume. ( Again very disturbing) 6. My Family ordered a dinner at 9: 30 pm, the order came at 10:30 that too packed from other Hotel and was very spicy and not eatable. We have to eventually arrange food from outside at 11 Pm from my family. ( They don't have kitchen in this Hotel and get food from near by Hotel) 7. Overall Cortesy and Hospitality missing. 8. This is a below par Hotel, in fact it's a Dharamshala, which is not worth more than Rs 1000 a day.

Average place to stay in Srinager for a night or two. Average food and service. This property is in secluded area and 1 2 odd kms from Dal lake. If u want to get out and explore srinager you wont find transport easily from here. You will have to ask for help from reception. But be very vigilant while asking for help as these guys are oversweet in there talks and behaviour. They have tie-ups with rickshaws, taxis etc and will thug you up. We wanted to visit one place which we were told is 15 kms away. However place was mere 1.2 km distance and we were charged Rs 500/- for a ride & back.

We are two families stayed at Royal Plaza for 4 nights. Hotel is good especially their food which is vey nice. They have a good spread in both breakfast as well as dinner. Menu changed every day. Staff is polite with always a smaile on their face. Rooms are provided with all the amenities incl Electrical kettle, AC etc. Bathrooms are provided with Geyser hence hot water is available 24 hours. They have generator for Power backup in case of electrical cut. Only thing in consideration is room size which is quite small and has no outside view. Also room cleaning service needs improvement.
