The entrance and service are very nice and clean, easy check-in staff is extremely polite and friendly. nice decoration. Rooms are dated though.

Here are some recommendations for improving the service at this hotel. 1. Not having to listen to other guests’ conversations during breakfast, as a result of the tables being so close together. I assume this is the reason staff do not serve beverages to guests as there is very little room between the tables, thus making it a health and safety issue for staff bringing hot drinks. Consequently, there were usually queues to use the drinks machines. 2. Not having to wait up to ten minutes for food/ drinks to be replenished, leading to queues and existing hot foods becoming cold, whilst waiting. 3. Not having to pay for coffee in the rooms. This is a total anathema for a 5* hotel! Fortunately, I had read previous online reviews regarding this, so bought coffee beforehand. 4. Ensuring spa facilities are available, as advertised. On four days out of seven, the sauna was turned off and on two days, the steam room was not switched on either. The jacuzzi worked every day, thankfully. 5. Providing bathrobes in the room is a must. Guests should not have to request them specifically. Although, in fairness, when we did so, they were provided in our room. 6. Reception staff should be aware that they are there to provide a service, not to argue with guests! We had to ask for our room keys to be recalibrated every day but we’re constantly told not to put them near mobile phones, which we never did. On the last evening, having encountered the same problem yet again, we were subjected to a lecture by two female receptionists and told that even using the Metro would affect the keys. When we explained that we had not used the Metro, put the keys near our phones or any other electronic devices, they spoke over us and assured us that every hotel using plastic key cards has the same problem, all over the world! This is absolutely not our experience, having travelled to many countries across four different continents. All we wanted was an apology but these two “ladies” simply did not care. In fairness, other Reception staff did apologise for the inconvenience.

Amazing hotel & value!

We had a great time staying at this hotel in Lisbon! Close to Edward VII park and walking distance to a few subway lines and busses, we could easily get around to wherever we wanted. We actually liked that this place isn't in such a crowded "touristy" area. Highly recommend! The breakfast was also fantastic, recommend adding that as well.

We didn't have the expected nice stay at the Real Palácio hotel. We paid a lot of money for a palice room and first thing you should know is that they don't all look as pretty as on the pictures. Secondly we had asked for a child bed repeatedly and indicated our daughter was far overdue her midday sleep. When we entered our room, the bed was still not there. In addition, we did not receive a towel for our daughter. The room was not cleaned one day, even though we were out of the hotel between 9:15 and 14:55. We asked twice for it to be cleaned at 18:00 and even though they promised to do this, they didn't follow up. Lastly, the coffee at breakfast is horrible, though you can make use of a nespresso machine in the hallway. Everywhere in Portugal you pay €1 for an espresso, but in this hotel you pay €2,50 for a nespresso. And tere is even more..

We stayed at the Hotel for five nights and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We requested a room with a balcony in advance and our request was adhered to. The room was pleasant and quiet. Whilst we were there, it was my husbands birthday, and we found a special treat in our room, which was greatly appreciated. The hotel is within easy reach of the airport by metro. We used Ubers on a few occasions, which were very reasonable. It is quite a walk from the hotel to many of the restaurants, but we don't mind walking and we felt very safe. Breakfast was plentiful and we dined in the hotel restaurant on two occasions and the food and service were excellent. I had one of the best Mojito's of the trip in the hotel bar and again the service was good and the staff accommodating and friendly. It is a Sports Bar open to the general public with lots of TV's. One evening there were huge celebrations in Lisbon when Sporting Lisbon won the league and celebrations in the town went on into the early hours. This was not a problem, we could hear the fireworks and horns honking and people were obviously very happy! All in all we had a great stay and would recommend the hotel.
