I arrived, up front stairs, into a tickity elevator, to find 'reception' - a small area with a laptop. My room was dar and poky, the window so high all I could see was sky. I could hear the chatter between the housekeeper and cleaners in the reception area, as though they were next door. I couldn't stay. I left. I thought about requesting a refund, but I felt so uncomfortable there that I just left. I didn't feel safe enough to sleep there. The hotel is in a quiet area, yes, but there's nothing around for a tourist! The reviews I read afterwards (this hotel was booked for me through an agent who insisted the reviews were good) were by people in Slovenia, Albania, and possibly friends of the guy running the place. This is just my opinion, my gut feeling. I'm sure it's fine for couples, men, families, but I wouldn't recommend it for a woman travelling alone.

Very nice personel. Great cabservice. Close to most things you want to see. Quiet street, easy to sleep. Perfect for us that doesn’t demand 5 stars hotells but just want a decent place to sleep close to everything. I would use again! Excellente,

This hotel has loads of character, from the grand staircase at the entrance and the rickety old lift to the splendid, high-ceilinged rooms. I liked the unorthodox approach to the reception also. Good location and nice staff too. Couldn't have asked for more.

Yes this is a budget hotel on the fourth floor of an older building but will we stay there again? Yes! We enjoyed it. Nardizzi has an old style feel with rooms with high ceilings. It actually feels like Rome should feel. It is situated in a street where there are traffic limitations on through-traffic which gave us another benefit. We could open our tall balcony door at night and sleep with fresh air and no direct traffic noise, except for distant sounds. Nonetheless, our airconditioning worked very well during a week of a heat wave. We were told the bathrooms will shortly be revamped which will be good. The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Rome for walks to many sights and there are some great restaurants around. Our final morning was an eye-opener in terms of customer care. We needed a taxi. The manager tried to order one but all taxi drivers in Rome were on strike. All private cars and Ubers were busy harvesting customers. My wife and I are older and our luggage heavy. We were stranded. Then two family members of the owner offered to step in and take us to the main station to catch a train to Fiumicino's airport. At the station they refused to accept payment when offered for taking us there. In my view Nardizzi excelled in customer care when we needed care! Thank you!
