We stayed in a double room for 3 nights. The hotel is nicely located about 30 minutes walk from collosseum. Everything is within easy reach. The hotel is clean and room nice. We've never been in such wide bed plus it was comfortable. Although it's not a 5* hotel, for the few days we stayed, it was enough. Our purpose was to rest properly. Great quality/price. I'd recommend.

We loved staying at the Moscatello. Beds were clean, spacious & comfortable. Reasonably priced & close to the underground metro station. There was no restaurant on site but there were many restaurants in the area for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Our room did have a fridge with bottled water and soft drinks. Our hosts showed us how to use the free coffee machine & also left us free croissants each morning. Wi-fi was free. We were able to reach all our site seeing places by taxi or metro. We were a group of 20 and enjoyed our 3 day stay. Thanks to Paolo for your great hospitality.

BAD CHECKIN EXPERIENCE. AVOID!!!

I booked through Expedia and didnt receive any email about check in instructions until i got there. Waited outside the building for 10mins then i had to ring the door bell of another hotel in the same building to get in, then waited for an hour more outside the hotel because staff wasnt there. There was a sign saying contact them via phone number and i tried to reach them but couldnt. Later when i decided to leave and already booked a room 2 blocks away, staff an old man appeared, couldnt speak english, told me he was sorry and he WOULD REFUND THE NIGHT RATE through expedia. AND GUESS WHAT!!!! Expedia CS worked with them for a week and came to me saying they refused to refund. What the hell! I could have left better review about their attitude but at the end they just want money and never care about service, even leaving guests waiting outside for an hour and still have money? Does it sound like scam to you?

Pros: 1. Daily housekeeping service where they made the beds, gave fresh towels, cleaned out garbage, gave us water bottles in the fridge. We were visiting during NYE and they even gave us 2 bottles of prosecco. 2. Staff is friendly and helpful. 3. Coffee and croissants for guests are available in the room and in the reception area. 4. 5 min walk to the "Vittorio Emmanuel" metro station, which makes it easy to go to places since the hotel isn't very close to main attractions. We did walk to Termini station (main train station where you take trains from other cities. We cam from Florence) and it was about 10/15 mins. We even walked to the Colosseum which was about 20 mins. We walked around every where and took the train, and felt it was safe enough. 7. Good Wifi connection. Cons: 1. This hotel doesn't have staff 24 hours on premises. We had a bad check in experience and unfortunately had to wait around almost an hour for someone to let us in to the building and then into the hotel. Although we informed them of our arrival time ahead of time via email, had to wait around a while. So make sure to inform the hotel about your arrival time. 2. It can get pretty loud. If you're a light sleeper bring ear buds. We could hear cars go by all night and could also hear the front desk staff talk on the phone late night. Our room was right by the reception, so this may not affect every room. 3. The safe wasn't working in the room for us. So we decided to just carry our valuables with us (though not the safest option either). Things to know: 1. All hotels in Rome charge a 3 euro fee per person per night. This needs to be paid in cash, so make sure to have enough cash. 2. The hotel is on the third floor of a building, and once you check in the owners will give you keys to the building, to the hotel and then to your room so you can go in and out as you wish. In the beginning it felt a little weird, but works out perfectly fine. Overall had a good time! It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
