Stayed at the ORBIT HOTEL. Experience was good. Midnapore has become too congested now and the streets are too narrow for all the traffic. But we can't expect better in a District town. There is a famous Muslim Burial Shrine there of the Saints of the Quaderia Order there. An Urs is held there every year on the 4th day of Falgun of the Bangla Year.

The behavior is very good. Rooms are ok. Bathrooms are normal. Covers and toilet seat broke. No regulator for AC. But worked fine. Only there were no ways to control the bed while sleeping. The rooms are clean. The bed is good. Only the bedsheets and pillow and covers are little uncleaned. These all compare to price range. Overall it is ok.

A moderate hotel but centrally located

In connection with a family reception I stayed in this hotel for a few hours recently with my wife. Construction looked unplanned and expansions done on ad hoc basis. Will do with improvement of upkeep and maintenance. In our suite although there was all the facilities, standard has to be improved. The only plus point was that location is central and was near the reception centre where we had gone to attend.

The best part of this Hotel is the location which is very good! However upkeep is poor. Could be better! TV's are sooo small. Lift was ok. Food though was good! the omlette at breakfast was cold though. I would only stay there again if I had to.

If someone visits Midnapore (not for sight-seeing, because there is nothing important to attract tourists) then I will gladly vouch for Hotel Hindustan for the visitor to stay. Location is extremely good. It takes only five minutes to reach the hotel from station by rickshaw. Rooms and more importantly the toilets are clean. They have a main building and an annex. All the employees of the hotel are friendly, courteous and soft-spoken. Service is very prompt. Many ATMs are there. There are plenty of rickshaws (from early morning to midnight). The hotel is also very safe and secured. Room service is not available in the annex building. But if someone is looking for a single room with attached bath (an unbelievable Rs 250/- for non-A/C and Rs. 500/- for A/C) then it is unbeatable. It's just at the back side of the main building. No sound comes from the main road, only the chirping of birds and insects. They have a well-decorated multi-cuisine A/C restaurant on the ground floor and a separate bar-cum-liquor shop. The food is surprisingly good with a very reasonable price tag. Even if someone does not want to order food from the hotel kitchen, there are a couple of good eateries within a stones throw, where one can get good quality food at very low rates.
