Horrible stay at Hotel Amar Digha , New Digha

We had made a trip to New Digha for a vacation for 2 days from our busy schedule from 21st to 23rd October with my family along with my elder sister and we had booked a 2 double bedded AC executive room at hotel Amar Digha located at New Digha with a balcony as per our request but the experience was horrifying which we can never forget . We reached the hotel on the 21st evening since the train was late but what we witnessed for 2 days was unforgettable. On reaching the hotel which looked totally empty with no guests around, lights were put off, only one light was on at reception even after being a holiday time for all guests with no guests around , Ac was off and was suffocating at the waiting hall . One lady was at the reception with Name Ishita Arora who must be an employee but behaved like an owner of the hotel as all other employees were dancing to her tune. Her behaviour was totally rude and unfriendly. When asked " If there are towels and water in the room "she replied rudely "when you go to the room you can check yourself" . This was the first instance of a truly warm welcome which was yet to come next . We wanted to get a refund and change hotels but we found out the amount was non refundable so we had no option but to stay there as we had already paid in advance for the room rents for two days. Secondly when we entered the room it was quite compact and stuffy , bedsheets were dirty along with pillow covers and there was dust lying all around the room that was swept but not swabbed. On checking the balcony, we expected a view of the outside but both the balconies of both rooms were blocked by buildings in front of the balcony so this was a second blow to us . There was only a single towel for two persons even after booking a room with double occupancy. Thirdly on checking the rooms there were no AC remotes , when checked with the employee who came to show our rooms replied rudely we do not give AC remotes to customers as per order of Ishita Arora . If anyone wants to change the temperature they must call on landline someone will come and change the temperature. When asked if we want to change temperature in middle of night since we have kids what should we do , they said we will not provide that time.This was shocking as have never got this kind of statement and never experienced such incident in all india travel including abroad stay where hotel owners do not got AC remotes to their customers in spite of charging for AC rooms as if we are seeing AC for first time and don't know to use it . This was terrifying . We had realised we have made our holiday a mess and now nothing can be done.It seems everybody in the hotel behaved badly with customers. That is the reason they do not have repeat customers and are left with only first time booking customers. We felt uncomfortable so decided to have dinner outside and not opt for the hotel. Fourthly in the next morning, to our surprise there were only two sugar sachets , two milk sachets and two tea bags. If any customer wanted to make tea in the room there was no option for coffee nor they had sugar free sachets for diabetic patients or more than one tea . We still compromised . We were then on our way to the restaurant downstairs. On the way we saw a housekeeping person cleaning a room so we casually told him to clean our room but he gave a strange look and slammed the door on our faces . We did not mention it at reception as there was no point saying anyone in this hotel as the culture is drawn downward from top . Person sitting at the reception counter poses as the owner behave s rudely with customers and so does the other employees .We went down for complimentary breakfast with limited items and timing 8.30 to 9.30 AM only with no cups for tea and coffee but tiny paper cups only . Small place customers crowding to take their food at the buffet counter with only four tables. No option for coffee also no fresh fruit juice but fruit syrup served as juice and also no room service available . After breakfast, we spent the next two days having food outside and spent less time in the hotel as we had made a blunder by booking this hotel . We ultimately could not spend ample time with family at the Hotel which we came for but opted to stay outside most of the time. We also informed our tour booking agent not to recommend this hotel to anyone in future nor we will recommend anybody or our friends to come to this hotel in future. If the owner of this hotel reads my comments then he should immediately throw the lady posing to be owner ISHITA ARORA out and keep a person more friendly and who values their customers more than money also changing the attitude of the staff towards customers as customers are only a source of revenue . The owner is ignorant about the real facts which are going at his hotel with few employees spoiling the name.Owner should immediately intervene and take control before it is too late and terminate people polluting the environment . Thanks for reading my comments as I am in great pain, I wasted my money over a stupid hotel and my vacation is spoiled should not happen to others. It was a nightmare experience staying at HOTEL AMAR DIGHA ... Will never recommend it to anyone nor will I come to this hotel .. Regards, Sunil Joseph

Fantastic experience at Aamar Digha

I visited Digha last week with my wife and daughter and stayed at "Aamar Digha" for 2 days - It was a terrific experience, located very close to beach (in the 2nd lane) - From our room (4th floor room), we had a view of the beach from balcony - Room was very neat and clean and quality of food was excellent - Had pomfret, lobster, desi chicken, bhetki during our stay - Every item was very tasty and quantity was huge - Like, 1 dal (served in a nice small balti) was sufficient for 3 of us, and 2 plate rice was enough for 3 of us. However, the negative side is that service sometimes is a bit slow especially when you order something from room. However, overall, we had a great stay at "Aamar Digha". Last but not the least, apart from the dining room, there were a couple of places where you can have dinner like the terrace from where the view is just mindblowing.

Hotel amar digha is very very bad hotel Hotel staf behaviour also to mach bad Talking sense is level is giro Room Bat Washington Bathroom not clean and service is very slow I live in lots of hotel but this hotel is very bad Staf is fighting costumers this is not good think 🤔 My suggestion please don't stay this hotel That's why I check out thik hotel immediately today My experience this hotel is very bad feeing engry Not This is not family type hotel

We visited Digha after a 5 months of boredom from lockdown. This was a reunion for us friends and we just had a great time. Ayan is the man in charge who could make our stay experience a wonderful one. The rooms and washrooms are clean,sanitized and spacious. The staff here are very friendly and are very courteous always. The location of the hotel gives one a quick access to beach, restaurants and a nice walk in the evening. A must visit and stay when in New Digha.
