A very clean and comfortable hotel, close to train station. The staff were very helpful, there was no language problems. The breakfast selection was excellent, with a wide choice to suit all tastes. There is a lot of building work in progress in the area but it didn't affect our stay.

The hotel and rooms are very comfortable, as are all Marriotts in our experience. I had trouble trying not to splash water from the shower onto the floor as the shower screen is very narrow. The beds are very comfortable, and the room is well proportioned. The area outside the hotel is fine if you are comfortable with being located in an area where huge construction works are on-going between the hotel and the train station, traffic is manically busy, and a lot of men are hanging around the streets during the day, and nightime, which could make you uncomfortable when you are trying to navigate around with wheelie cases etc and a family in toe. If we were to return to Munich, I think I would pay a bit extra to stay in the tourist area; or a more stress free neighbourhood.

I’m bitter about this stay. My dates were fixed to visit Munich, but because of the world’s largest sewer professionals’ conference, I had to book this hotel for 5 nights at a rate of $420 per night. Fair enough if this was a premium property, but this was a standard Courtyard in an apocalyptic hellscape of a neighborhood. There were drug dealers, street thugs, and homeless literally in the doorstep. This is a dangerous neighborhood and it’s a 15 minute walk to the center. Stay away from here.

Convenient location in an international area

Good: This is a very convenient location: 2 blocks from the train station and located a few blocks from Karlsplatz, a main bus station area. A branch of Deutche Bank is across the street, with an ATM. And a grocery store, Lidl, is 2 doors down. It has an in-room safe that's big enough for a laptop computer or tablets. Other people say the neighborhood is "sketchy", but the hotel is in the middle of an international area, so you have Middle Eastern, Turkish, and other ethnic restaurants nearby. To me, the hotel feels like it's in the middle of any major city, such as New York. Our room was located above the street, so we heard street noise, but it wasn't too bad. Again, this is in a city, so it's expected. But if you don't like the occasional honking or police sirens, maybe request a room in the back of the hotel. And the view wasn't the best, but again, the location to the train station (and the reasonable price) made up for a lack of good view. Bad: There's no secondary door lock, like a latch or chain. The shower has a very tall edge to step over to get in and out of the shower. It also has a very small glass wall, but that's not enough to keep the floor from getting wet. I put the towel mat on the floor, but I still slipped when I got out of the shower. So, I think this is a bad design. We put a Do Not Disturb sign on our door when we left in morning. When we came back, the sign was gone and housekeeping had come in and cleaned our room, even though we didn't really want them to do this.

This hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping not to mention the train station. Excellent if you don't have a car. Clean rooms. Nice size rooms. Comfortable bed. Nice shower. Good water pressure. Helpful staff.
