Please don't stay here. There's much nicer and cleaner places available in Jaipur. Don't be fooled by the nice website photos, and heritage status... it's nothing like a 3*hotel! It's dirty and well past it's heyday. The staff were cordial but not particularly welcoming. This place needs to close for refurbishment and severe cleaning before it takes paying guests again.

Arrived at the hotel and was advised we couldn’t stay as work being done on our rooms due to a previous fire! We had booked 2 rooms for 3 nights with booking.com- in January -manager said he had tried to call us directly - no notification from booking.com who were unaware of situation. Other people were staying there so I was led to believe they had overbooked ! Very frustrating experience as then had to find alternative accommodation - the place itself is very rundown- the advertiseing photos probably taken 20 years ago! Shame as obviously was a beautiful property - if you choose to stay here have a back up plan!

We had originally booked two rooms from March 16 to 19, but the general manager of the house contacted us via booking.com and WhatsApp and informed us that the booking had to be canceled because there had been a fire in the hotel. The hotel will therefore be closed from March 10th onwards. It seemed strange to us because the hotel remained bookable on all sites, but the general manager stuck to his story and so the booking was canceled a few days before the planned arrival. Since we are in Jaipur anyway I went by the hotel and checked whether it was closed. The hotel is obviously open and the staff at the gate also answered my question whether the hotel was open "Yes Yes open, come" and whether there was fire, visibly surprised "No Fire!" So whatever the hotel's scam is, I have never experienced anything like it in my travels to over 40 countries. Highly dubious, I would stay away from this hotel unless you want to lose your confirmed booking shortly before your arrival!

The big win of this hotel is the amazing ambiance of the palace stile as well as the huge garden, where one can recover from the city. Drawbacks are the area in which it is situated as it is a bit rough and that it the rooms are quite basic apart of the ambiance. However, it was the best hotel of this price class we had been to in India and therefore the best in terms of value you get for the price.
