Embarking on our South India tour from the UK, Mangalore unexpectedly became a stopover, chosen for its proximity to the airport. Opting for the AJ Grand Hotel based on stellar reviews turned out to be a serendipitous decision. Situated in the heart of the city, the hotel provided convenient access to shopping, restaurants, and modern malls, all within a leisurely 30-minute walk. The reception staff's courtesy set a welcoming tone, ensuring a seamless check-in process. Our suite, impeccably clean with enhanced facilities, greeted us with an unexpected perk—an empty refrigerator, a thoughtful touch for personalising our stay with beverages and snacks. The hotel's two highly acclaimed restaurants surpassed expectations, offering a diverse array of delectable choices during main meal times. This meant that we rarely felt the need to explore dining options outside. Kudos to the entire restaurant staff, with a special mention for Ganesh, whose culinary insights enriched our menu selections, and Suresh, whose attentive service at breakfast was welcome. While the gym and swimming pool were compact, they proved functional and, more often than not, were a private sanctuary for our use. The potential future demand for these facilities notwithstanding, our experience was one of undisturbed enjoyment. The reception staff, although not all adorned with name badges, stood out for their exceptional assistance. Their guidance in locating our boarding passes and travel documents for our onward journey was invaluable. We were particularly grateful for their considerate offer to extend our checkout time, seamlessly aligning with our travel arrangements—small gestures that made a significant difference. Having little prior knowledge of Mangalore, we were pleasantly surprised by the city and its welcoming residents. Exploring the beach and other recommended sites, discovered through various YouTube videos, unveiled Mangalore's potential as a future tourist attraction, perhaps even rivalling Goa in the future. However, we hope that the city manages to preserve its charm without succumbing to the challenges often associated with increased tourism. My mother and I gone for a visit to Mangalore for the first time and the team at AJ Grand made our stay very pleasant, happy and comfortable with lot of good memories to take back from the trip. We visited some beautiful temples with the help of taxi booked through AJ Grand and enjoyed amazing vegetarian food in the Hotel

Our stay at the hotel was indeed a value for money experience. The entire hotel was neat and clean with a very courteous staff. Food was very delicious....with a special mention of the breakfast buffet spread 👍

Stayed here for a night when I was transiting Mangalore to catch a flight. The room is of decent size, clean and comfortable. Toilets are nice. Didn't have breakfast as I had to leave early for the airport. The hotel staff is generally very nice.

We were very comfortable. This is a very good hotel with good rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast is buffet style, but with eggs and dosa made ready to order. Laundry was very expensive! And on our first night the WiFi didn’t work. But, as said, we were happy here. We had dinner at Maharadja Family Restaurant and at Pallkhi. I can recommend both.
